Project InDesign

The "Menu" Hollywood Sandwich Shoppe Menu For this project, I decided to keep it rather simple per the client’s wishes. I chose Farrah Fawcett as the “Special Feature” because she seemed to fit in well with the other celebrities that were mentioned on the menu. I added an original slogan for the restaurant to perk up the Menu. I also included a photo of celebrities eating sandwiches on the front panel in order to pique the interest of potential customers. I kept with the purple theme of the logo and tinted it a bit when I created bold underlines for the “Category” style and I used a lesser tint (more purple) for the slogan. I changed the styles for the different categories just a bit to add a more cohesive look to the menu. Using the zero-point tool, the grid guides, and the ruler were tremendously helpful as I would have had a very difficult time measuring or being accurate with the folding points or (non-print) panel dividers on each page. I also made sure to include a slug area so that I could list the panels in each column (3) on both pages so that I could keep up with what goes where. Importing the text from the prompt was easy since I just used the direction selection tool to allow me to continue the story in each text frame (in each column) without over-set text. I think my client will be very pleased with the project since I stayed consistent with the coloring and styles throughout the menu.
