Project InDesign

The "Humane Society Calendar" Humane Society Calendar For the Calendar project, I decided to use three different animals, two of which are exotic and one is domestic, in order to stay in accord with the guidelines given to me by the Humane Society. I chose a guinea pig for the month of March, an iguana for April and an overweight cat for May. I made sure that I included an “overweight” cat so that it adds to the “diversity” of animals that are being put up for adoption--one of those diversity specs being weight of course. I kept the layout and coloring simple as to not draw too much attention away from the animals and I included a fun fact in each month per the directions. The calendar was actually the hardest to do since I had to use the table and had to play around with the strokes to get it as bold as I wanted. However, using a Master Page helped tremendously since I didn’t have to keep doing the same thing over and over again. I also used the rectangle tool to draw boxes around my fun facts and the coupons as to set them apart and (as far as the coupons go) to make it easier to cut them out. The client should be pleased because the calendar is simple and funny. I made sure to include a very cute picture of a guinea pig, an iguana with an extremely long tail, and a very big cat!
