Project InDesign

The "Festival Advertisement" Sawdust Arts Festival Advertisement For the Sawdust Ad, I decided to do something involving stars since after viewing several of their face painting designs online I noticed lots of stars and therefore wanted to give the advertisement a dreamy feel. When designing the advertisement I made sure to only use four-colors as per the guidelines and I specifically got those colors from off their website. I added four colors, from the original logo, onto my swatches and exclusively used them in this ad. I had to make good use of the grids in this assignment since I had several objects that I wanted to be aligned perfectly on each side of the page. Some of the objects were stars and the other palm trees. I used palm trees since this event is taking place by the beach and the beach has lots of palm trees, also palm trees are big and draw attention to the advertisement. The background has a greenish gradient to contribute to my dreamy design and I think my client would love that effect since it is easy on the eyes and makes it less hard for people to read the text. The year “2008” is in the middle of the advertisement and I wanted it to be because it draws attention away from the text (which is a lot) and more to the design elements---my client wanted something of this nature. Overall the work would be great for posters, flyers and even t-shirts since it’s simple and artsy!
